Tales of the Wasteland
The Morricones
Producer · Mixing Engineer
Western songs from Austria: The Morricones write their own tales of gunslingers and outlaws, with the spaghetti-western score never far away. We recorded at Golden Retriever Studios in Berlin, in my studio and on location in Upper Austria. I wrote the brass and string arrangements and played much of the color around the band: electric and slide guitar, saz, dulcimer, 12-string, piano and organ.

4–5 out of 5 stars. The record presents a whole range of familiar western themes and figures from the genre – exactly what the title Tales of the Wasteland promises. Musically, though, The Morricones offer much more than digging out familiar motifs. The varied influences in particular give the album its energy and keep the listening entertaining.
