Gewalten
For the music of “Gewalten”, director Sascha Hawemann selected his favorite songs of my band ear. I provided new instrumental versions to be remixed and included in the play. The shows of “Gewalten” have been part of Sebastian Hartmann’s Leipziger Festspiele in 2013.
“Ensemble, set, staging and text are rarely woven together this closely – and the Leipziger Festspiele glitter, dark and beautiful, as the team of outgoing artistic director Hartmann managed time and again in its best moments.”
“Meyer wrote the way a hooligan roars in the stadium. Loud, blunt and hard: 'I'm still here, you pigs!' With Hawemann, on the other hand, you're allowed to laugh; the play becomes a mocking homage to the Meyer cosmos. […] Hanging over all the hopelessness is a knockabout comedy.”
[…] Über dem Hoffnungslosen liegt eine Knallkomik.“
“Sarah Franke and Janine Kreß, Edgar Eckert, Günther Harder, Christian Kuchenbuch and Ingolf Müller-Beck are a pure delight – the six with whom a contented-looking Clemens Meyer takes his bow before an enthusiastic audience after two entertaining hours.”
