Tell Me
By the time of this record, Meena Cryle and The Chris Fillmore Band had been runners-up at the European Blues Challenge and played the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. They wanted an album without limits that would capture the energy of their live shows, and chose to make it with me. We recorded the band playing together, and I added color where the songs asked for it: glockenspiel, Vox organ, mandolin, upright bass, 12-string guitar, piano and Ondes Martenot. Released on Ruf Records.
9 out of 10 points: phenomenal! … Another positive aspect is the production. It was done in analog, which has a strong effect on the warmth and naturalness of the music. “Tell Me” is already one of the best blues records of the year.
A high-energy record between southern rock, blues, soul and rock ’n’ roll, with one of the best female singers of the genre worldwide. You can clearly hear that at its core this is a band that has played together for years.
