Records
I’ve been making records for more than twenty years: as composer and producer for my band ear, and as producer and mixing engineer for artists like Meena Cryle and Fabian Holland.
I also started Cinematic Covers, a series of reimagined songs featuring vocalists like Emily Intsiful and Jillian Wheeler.
As a producer, I’m looking for talent, emotion, and a story worth telling.
Many recordings start in my own studio, but when a production calls for it, I move to larger studios where a full band or ensemble can play together in one room.
I often play instrumental parts myself and bring in the musicians and engineers each project needs.
For me, the song comes first. If it holds up on one instrument, it will hold up under any production.
If it doesn’t, no production will rescue it.

“An enduring treat that will be played to death, this one will stick to your stereo and make itself hard to forget”
“The album is a fascinating insight into the world of thoughts and feelings of this talented musician, who leaves all clichés and genres behind.”
“In just one day of studio recordings – a rather surprising fact, given the meticulous attention to every detail …”
“… a bundle of dark impassioned Blues, solemn Alt-Pop and percussive harmonics …”
4–5 out of 5 stars. The record presents a whole range of familiar western themes and figures from the genre – exactly what the title Tales Of The Wasteland promises. Musically, though, The Morricones offer much more than digging out familiar motifs. The varied influences in particular give the album its energy and keep the listening entertaining.
Yeah! ear have released a new album. Elysian Fields is completely different from its predecessors, and yet: pure ear. Different, because more than half of the songs were written for a theater production. Pure ear, because Günther Harder and Raphael Tschernuth stay true to themselves: straight songs, haunting, pure arrangements.
9 out of 10 points: phenomenal! … Another positive aspect is the production. It was done in analog, which has a strong effect on the warmth and naturalness of the music. "Tell Me" is already one of the best blues records of the year.
A high-energy record between southern rock, blues, soul and rock & roll, with one of the best female singers of the genre worldwide. You can clearly hear that at its core this is a band that has played together for years.
Out In The Open delights as pleasantly unexcited, finely crafted singer-songwriter pop. It is a record that drifts with focus, snapping Polaroids of the uncertain.
What Günther Harder and Raphael Tschernuth, under the name ear, bring to humanity's ears on their fifth work is the loveliest, finely polished indie pop. Well, hello there…
